Finishing of DVD Menu

After creating all my menus, I had connected up all the links appropriately so each button would lead to the right thing. I had a bit of trouble with the flowchart in that it was hard to pickwhip all of my menus together because there was so many. Despite all the problems with encore and its errors, I managed to finish off my menu and burn it on to disk. I also wrote out a long self assesment on how I hasd done in this project. I am happy overall with how the overall project had gone.

Research, moodboards and drafts

Before starting my dvd menu, I had to firstly chose two genres out of four to study. I chose horror and childrens cartoon. I drafted up a moodboard for each and researched the conventions of each genre and what you would expect to see in a typical film of thet genre. I decided to use the horror genre for my dvd project and have the title "mr and mrs perfect" as the title. This is because a film with this title would naturally be assumed to be a chick flick or romcom but making it a horror film opens up a lot of interesting oppurtunities for a story line. After this I decided to do some audience research on what title font to chose, after putting the choices through a survey, I had come to the conclusion that the third font title I had chosen was the one to use because it was the target audiences top choice. I then drafted up an idea of what I wanted my dvd menu to look like on paper. After this I put it into photoshop to see what it would look like as my actual menu. I now plan on starting my actual dvd menu.

Introduction to Adobe Encore

I was introduced to the first time to thisd programme and in the hour and a half I was given I have learnt to open up the programme, import footage into the timeline, render a menu and use the flowchart. I found this relatively easy to learn and hope to improve my skills in this programme over the next few weeks.
